Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie (Kuykendall) Jackson, 92, Glencoe, who went to be with the Lord on Sunday, will be held graveside Thursday at 11 a.m. at Crestwood Cemetery. Chaplain Matt Rose will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Our mom was a loving mother and a wonderful wife to our dad. She used to tell us about her first job working as a clerk at a laundry; and then going to work at Goodyear Heel and Sole. After starting a family, she left Goodyear to be a full-time mom, raising three children. In her spare time, she enjoyed her hobbies of sewing, ceramics, painting and gardening.
Jennie was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John F. Jackson; her father and mother, Fredrick Kuykendall and Margaret (Brown) Kuykendall; three brothers, Bankston, Houston and Aubrey (Ruby) Kuykendall; two sisters, Mildred Kuykendall and Ruby (Ted) Day; brother and sisters-in-law, Eugene Minton, Ralph Moon, Leon Jackson, Willard (Mary Nell) Owens, Garland (Frances) Dowdy, Robert (Doris) Wagnon, Sharon Morrison; and granddaughter, Jennifer Martin.
Jennie is survived by her three children, Ronda Duke, Cynthia (Rodney) Martin and Edwin (Karen) Jackson; two sisters, Ivalene Moon and Avalene Minton; brother and sisters-in-law, Curtis (Faye) Jackson, David (Ann) Jackson and John Morrison; nine grandchildren, Regina (Charles Nelson) Duke, Jason (Jamie) Duke, Angella (Jamie) Nance, Dr. Charles (Ashley) Martin, Laura (Blake) Hood, Hillary (Jacob) Blackwood, Natalie (Jeremy) Harris, Daniel Willett and Adam (Courtney Hare) Willett; great-grandchildren, Hunter Duke, Sean Duke, Dalton Duke, Colton Duke, Kayton Duke, Ariel Stafford, Jamesion Nance, Reagan Hood, Mallory Hood, Jackson Blackwood, Gabriel Harris and Bralen Harris; great-great-granddaughter, Heather Stafford; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
