Funeral services for Mr. Jeffery Charles Tanner age 56, of Warrior,Al. will be held Monday 1 pm at Crestwood Chapel in Gadsden Alabama. Jeff passed away in Birmingham surrounded by family and friends after a three year battle with cancer. Family and friends will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Jeff was born in Gadsden and graduated with the 1977 class of Gadsden High. He proudly served in The United States Air Force from 1977 until 1981 as a missile facilities specialist. Many people will remember him as "Tanner" a radio disc jockey who was on the air in several local radio stations. Jeff was well known for his dynamic personality, voice, creativity and excellent communitive skills. He was an author active in Ministry and founded Campfire Devotions Ministry.
He is preceded in death by parents Charles and Jean Tanner and his sister Tammy.
He is survived by wife Kathy, sons Dustin(Jennifer) and Cody(Devin)Tanner.
Brothers David (Elaine),Butch(Emily) and Donnie(Sherry)Tanner, several nieces and nephews, three grandchildren Saylor, Parks and Presley Tanner .
The family will receive friends Monday from 11 am until the time of service.
