Funeral will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, November 20th at First United Methodist of Hokes Bluff for Janice Daves, age 77, of Hokes Bluff, who died November 18th, 2014. Bros. Harvey Beck and Steve Baccus will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Mrs. Daves was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hokes Bluff. She was retired from Etowah County Commision with 35 years of faithful service. She was a loving grandmother, and she loved to cook and help other people in their time of need.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Alan Daves; and her parents, Troy and Louise Reeves.
She is survived by daughter, Susan (Glenn) Bryan; son Alan (Michelle) Daves; brothers Troy (Bobbie) Reeves, Mack (Charlotte) Reeves, and Cootie (Sharon) Reeves; grandchildren, Nathan and Kyle (Leann) Bryan, Chad, Jessica, and Kate Daves; chosen grandson Trevor Hamilton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Matt Hanks, Jason Reeves, Tom Martin, Dennis Jones, Chad Daves, and Kyle Bryan.
Honorary pallbearers are Eloise Landers, Gail Collins, and Dewey Ryan's Sunday School Class.
Special thanks to longtime friends Sandy Martin and Ann Beard, and also to Southern Hospice for making her comfortable in her last days.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
