Janice Marie Griffin passed away on July 23, 2026, in Crossville, Tennessee, at the age of 78. Jan was born on August 19, 1947, in DeKalb County, Alabama, to her loving parents, Hoyt and Verma Bethune.

Jan leaves behind a legacy not measured by accomplishments, but by a family shaped by her love. She loved spending time outdoors and had a passion for cooking. Jan's kitchen was always open, and she made sure everyone who visited left with a full heart and a full stomach. Her table was the heart of the family, where some of life's sweetest memories were made. Those beautiful moments shared around her table will be forever cherished by her family and friends and carried in their hearts always.
Jan was a faithful member of College Heights Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her church family and her exercise group, both of which brought her great joy.
She is survived by her children, Penny (Darryl) Blaylock and Terry (Susan) Street; her grandchildren, Jordan (Joshua) Dillon, Corey (Clayton) Maxey, Logan Street, McKenzie Street, Rylee (Davin) Marshall, Halee (Trevor) Hall, and Hannah (Ty) Heifner; her great-grandchildren, Alexis Dillon, Nathaniel Dillon, Thomas Marshall, Grayson Maxey, Hayden Maxey, Stella Heifner, Briggs Gaston, Hallie Maxey, and Sutton Heifner, with two more great-grandchildren on the way. She is also survived by her siblings, Jerry Bethune, Brenda (Butch) Farabee, and Vickey (Steve) Turner, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
Jan was preceded in death by her loving husband, Venice Griffin; her parents, Hoyt and Verma Bethune; her brothers, Kenneth Bethune and Joe Bethune; her sister-in-law, Pat Bethune; and her niece, Leslie Bethune.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jan Sutton, who selflessly cared for Jan during her final years. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication will always be remembered and deeply appreciated.
