Funeral Service will be at 3pm Thursday, August 11 at Crestwood Chapel for Janet Dale O'Kelly, age 73, of Webster's Chapel, who died at her home on Monday August 8, 2011. Pastor Donald Douthit, Terry McCleskey, and Renee Carr will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
Janet was a special lady and wife, Mama, Maw, mother in law, sister, and friend, who loved her family and friends. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, sewing, crocheting, and all of the students who rode her school bus for over 27 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Leta and Louie Walker; her husband of 55 years Charles O'Kelly; brother Robert Walker; and sister Peggy Phillips.
She is survived by her daughter Donna (Terry) McCleskey; granddaughter Kandace (Erich) Gebhard; great granddaughters Chrissy and Kaitie Gebhard; nephew Dennis Duarte; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; childhood friend who was like a sister Mary Nell Douthit; special friend Connie Quinn; and sisters in law Sue Burdett (Jerry), Lynn (Raymond) Patterson, Linda Clay, and Jean Mendez.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Duarte, J.J. White, Bill Henderson, Stoney Romine, Johnny Vineyard, and Steve Burnett.
Honorary Pallbearers will be all nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Dr. Harshad Patel, Dr. Huma Khusro, Dr. Walter "Mac" Bridges and all of their staff, Teresa Barksdale and all of the staff at Senior Heights at Riverview Medical Center. Also a very, very special thanks to her niece Brenda Bryant.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 until 8pm.
