Funeral service will be at 1pm Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Rainbow City for James "Tommy" Hand, age 82, of Rainbow City. Tommy passed away on Friday April 21, 2023. Revs. Dave Roberts and Richard Bradford will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services.

Tommy was a  lifelong resident of the Gadsden Area. He had served with the National Guard and had retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber. He loved God, his family, his church and his church family, Alabama Football, and his rescue dog, Charlie.

Tommy had a great sense of humor and always wore a great big smile. He was loved by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his wife Billie Hand, Parents Robert and Farris Hand, and his sister Glenda Foster.

Tommy is survived by his wife Dorothy Hand; daughters Krista Williams, Debbie Hand, Teresa (Fred) Bornhausen, and Sherry (Kevin) Welch; stepchildren Becky (Phillip) Haynes, Shannon (Greg) Livingston, and Kenny (Tammy) Griffin; grandchildren Kaleigh (Griff) Gordon, Peyton (Adam) Colegrove, Casey (Cody) Dailey and Ashley Finegan; great grandchildren Gray Gordon, Ryker and Cason Dailey, Kennedy Grace and future great grandchild Mary Ann Colegrove; and many more extended family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Paul Swatek, Griff Gordon, Adam Colegrove, Phillip Haynes, Cody Dailey, and Kenny Griffin.

Honorary pallbearers are the Men's Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Rainbow City .

The family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Gadsden Regional Medical Center ICU.

The family will receive friends at the church from 12 until the hour of service Tuesday.
