Obituary

Funeral will be 2 pm Saturday at Crestwood Chapel for Mr. James "Lamar" Ragan age 48 of Gadsden who died Tuesday. Reverends Billy Burtram, Allen Ragan and Chris Ragan will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Lamar was a Christian and faithful member of Reverence Baptist Church, a Marine Veteran having served in Desert Storm, a jokester, hunter, fisherman, foundry industry worker for over 20 years, Alabama football fan and mentor and coach to numerous football players form pee wee to the NFL.
He is preceded in death by parents James and Jo Ragan, and brother Clay Ragan.
He is survived by wife Kelli Ragan, children Krisi (Aaron) Brambley, Power( Katie) Ragan, River Ragan, Clayton Stevens, Devon Stevens, grandchildren Tesla Stevens, Garrett Brambley, Asher Ragan ,siblings Allen(Lisa) Ragan, Jeannie(Bobby) Black, Chris (Kelly) Ragan, Elaine(David) Turner, Beth(Ray) Sitz, Troy(Tammie) Mancil, B.J.(Joan) Mancil, Allen(Kim) Mancil numerous nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
Pallbearers will be lifelong friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lamar Ragan Funeral Fund in care of wife Kelli.
Special thanks to the Doctors and staff of U.A.B. Medical Center.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 11 am until the time of service.
