J. Howard Mayben, age 90, of Webster's Chapel, passed away on Thursday, October 31st, 2024. Funeral service will be Sunday, November 3rd, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. Jay Benefield will be officiating. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery.

Howard will be remembered for his love of fishing , raising chickens and  anything outdoors in his younger days. He was a proud Army veteran and worked at the steel plant most of his life. He loved visits from all his grand and great  grandchildren. He raised 7 children, and each one can testify about him being somewhat grumpy and somewhat stern, however he was kind and loving to his dog Wally. Wally was his loyal companion. Howard was loved and will be dearly missed

Preceded in death by his parents James and Maggie Mayben, daughter in law Marcia Mayben, children Shannon and Shane Helms, siblings June, Robert, Katherine, Polly, Sis, Orby Ray and Gordon

Survived by his sons Jeff (Annette) Mayben, Brian (Tammy) Mayben, Scott Mayben, Butch (Mitzi) Colley, Robin Cline, grandchildren Emily, Alex, Brandon (Coplin), Taylor, Kolton and great grandchildren Talton, Ryler, Raylie and  brother Roy.Family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
