James Edward "Jimmy" Lumpkin passed away from this life on April16th, 2022..A celebration of life service will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Crestwood Chapel. Reverend Dr.Steve West will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home announcing.

Mr. Lumpkin was born and raised in Gadsden, Alabama. He was a 1967 graduate of Gadsden High School. He then served in the Army Reserve for 2 years while working at Piggly Wiggly grocery store. His next job was at Gulf State Steel, where he worked for over 20 years
(until its closure). He retired at Belk Hudson, in the Gadsden Mall, where he worked for over 12 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nina Floy and Clarence Lumpkin and brothers, Ronnie Lumpkin,
Courtney Lumpkin, Leon Lumpkin and Durwood Lumpkin: Sister, Wanda Lumpkin Wilbanks
He is survived by two daughters, Traci Lumpkin and Kristi Lumpkin Francis (Woody): girlfriend, Gay Farmer: Sister Jo Muskett, grandchildren, Jacob Francis, Joseph Francis,
Sarah Francis and Isaac Francis and a host of nieces, nephews and cousin..

Family and friends were the most important things in Jimmy's life. He visited his extensive family, friends and grandchildren at every opportunity. He had a passion for traveling
and food. He loved to take everyone out to eat and went on vacation every chance he got. He loved people and never met a stranger. He was quite a jokester and loved playing tricks on others. He was a very dedicated father, grandfather, brother and friend.
After he retired, he spent most of his time with his girlfriend, Gay and her family.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 11 am until the time of service at 1 pm.
