Obituary

Funeral service will be at Noon Tuesday February 11, at Crestwood Chapel for Mr. James E."Jim" McNeal, age 79, of Gadsden, Alabama, who left6 this earth for his Heavenly home on Friday, February 7, 2014. The Rev. Anthony Copeland and the Rev. Bill Snow will officiate. Interment will be at Anniston Memorial Gardens in Anniston, Alabama. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services.
Mr. McNeal was born in Calhoun, resided in Anniston for 59 years, and had lived in Etowah County for the past 16 years. He was a retired Structural Iron Worker and member of Local 92 in Birmingham. He was a lifelong member of Edgewood Congressional Methodist Church of Anniston but had attended Immanuel Baptist Church, Hokes Bluff, for the last 16 years.
He is preceded in death by his late wife and mother of his children, Linda Paris McNeal; parents Haron and Gladys McNeal; and his niece Page Ledbetter Goodwin.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 16 years, Geraldine Maxwell McNeal; his children Susan (Vic) McNeal Tankersley , Mark (Cindy) McNeal, and Mike McNeal; grandchildren Montana Kalien Tankersley and Jacob Paul McNeal; 6 great grandchildren; sister Charlotte McNeal Ledbetter; brothers Terry (Jane) McNeal and Kenneth (Linda) McNeal; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Jim's doctors and nurses at GRMC especially 8th floor north, and UAB doctors and nurses of Cardiac Critical Care Unit for their professionalism and caring attention given.

Pallbearers are Kevin Jackson, Mark Weaver, Drew Gazaway, Scott Lumpkin, Brack Mayhall, and Jacob McNeal.

Honorary Pallbearers are the members of Jim's Sunday School Class at Immanuel Baptist Church.
