Funeral will be 2 pm Thursday at Crestwood Chapel for Mr. James William Hamrick, Sr., age 78 of Glencoe , who died Monday June 24 ,2013. Reverend Mark Gidley will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home in charge of services.

Mr. Hamrick retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. after 32 years of service as a manager. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church . He bled Crimson Red, served in the Naval Reserves, was a loving father, grandfather and was married to his high school sweetheart and soul mate Mary Lou for over 58 years. He loved to fish ,hunt, and garden and was an award winning football player at Glencoe High School.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Revey Hamrick and Helma Hamrick; son, James William Hamrick, Jr. and an infant daughter.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Hamrick; sons, David Hamrick (Brandi), Mark Hamrick (Joan) and Danny Hamrick (Tabatha); grandchildren, Megan Saint, Jill England (Matthew), Cortney Rodgers, Todd Hamrick, Katie Hamrick, Dowling Hamrick and great grandchild, Evelyn; siblings, Robert Hamrick, Tommy Hamrick, Velma Hammett, Wilma Tucker, Helma Lowe, Sue Melton and Shirley Wood and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Mark Hamrick, David Hamrick, Tommy Hamrick, Robert Hamrick, Mike Martin, Alan Howard, Todd Hamrick, Matthew England, Stephen Rodgers, Gabe Graves and Rodney Martin.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home
