Funeral will, be at 11 am Thursday at Crestwood Chapel for Mr. James " Red" Garrard age 85 of Gadsden who died Monday. Brother Nathan Glenn will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Mr. Garrard was a retired textile worker who was known as Mr. Fix It to his entire family due to his ability to fix any and everything. He was a longtime member of The Noccalula Church of God. He also served in The United States Army during the Korean Conflict.. He was a loving Husband, father and extremely proud grandfather. He is also survived by his faithful companion "Noodles" his loving poodle.
He is preceded in death by parents Lewis and Gertrude Garrard, brothers Arthur "Sam", Charles "Joe" and Lewis "Vernon" Garrard.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Jewell, son James "Mike" (Angela)Garrard. Grandchildren Paul Daniel Garrard, Crystal Daniel Garrard and Anthony Michael Garrard. sister Launa Cooper and brother Glen(Tokey) Garrard and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.

The family will receive friends at the funeral tonight from 6 until 8 pm.
