James Charlie "Grizzly" Grizzard, age 83, of Ohatchee, Alabama, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026.

Charlie is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Deborah Grizzard; his son, Tim (Tia) Grizzard; his daughters, April Grizzard, Cyndi Owens, Teresa (Roy) Rowe, Tawanna Waites, and Tinia Wheeler; his sister, Joan Truitt; as well as many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Alma Grizzard, and his sisters, Nancy Cooper, Louise Curry, and Mildred Wisler.

Charlie proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran before retiring from a long career as a truck driver. He was a devoted husband, father, and beloved Pawpaw whose greatest joy was spending time with his family. He enjoyed listening to country music, working outdoors, and living a simple life surrounded by those he loved.

Though his family deeply mourns his passing, they find comfort in knowing that Charlie is free from pain and has been reunited in Heaven with his parents and sisters who went before him. His love, strength, and gentle spirit will be treasured and remembered always.
