Funeral services for Mr. James Doyle Cameron, 85, Hokes Bluff, will be Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. at Crestwood Funeral Home. Rev. David Heflin will officiate. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Mr. Cameron was a proud veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Fordham Transfer with 37 years of service, he was a member of Briarwood Hills Baptist Church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his daughter; Amelia Ann Cameron
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years; Irene Lunsford Cameron, daughter; Donna (Ronnie) Blanton, son; Jim (Linda) Cameron, grandchildren; Amy (Michael) White, Brian (Amy Jo) Blanton, Kevin Cameron, Jamie (Kyle) Hicks, Chris (Jennie) Cook, Natalie Moore, great- grandchildren; Makenzie, Colby, Cameron, Justin, Avery, Bralan, Cason, Logan and Thomas.
The family will be accepting flowers or donations may be made to Southern Care Hospice.
Pallbearers will be Brian Blanton, Kevin Cameron, Michael White, Kyle Hicks, Brian Hewitt, Greg Weatherly, Steven Wright and Craig Sosbee.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles Fordham, Bill Patterson, Johnny Hall.
Special thanks to the 5th floor nurses and staff at Riverview Regional Medical Center, especially nurse Christy Reed, and to Southern Care Hospice.
The family will receive friends today from 10-12:30 at Crestwood Funeral Home.
