Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday at Howelton Methodist Church for Mr. James Butler, age 70, of Altoona who died Wednesday, May 11, 2022. Rhett Lister and Billy Reynolds will officiate. Burial will be in Mortons Chapel Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.

James will be remembered for his love of the Lord first, then as the rock of the Butler family. He loved them all dearly. He was one of a kind and quite the character. He retired from Mueller Company with over 38 years of service. He was a man of God and was honest and loving and shared the Lord with all. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his granddaughter Meagan Hogeland and parents Charles and Lillie Butler.

Mr. Butler is survived by his wife of 48 years Patricia, children Angela (Joshua) Strickland and Kim (John) Gann, grandchildren Alannah, Breanna, Skylor, J.J., Seth, Emma, and Jannah, great grandchildren Ella and Charlee, siblings Jackie Landis, Quaionline Nelson, Judy Farmer, Melvin Butler, numerous nieces and nephews, and his faithful companion, his Yorkie Saban Bryant.

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Visitation will be on Saturday at the church starting at 12:00 p.m. and lasting until the time of service.
