Graveside service will beat 2pm Saturday October 30 at Crestwood Cemetery for James "Bill" Barron, age 80, of Rainbow City, who died October 27, 2010. Rev. Bobby Morgan will officiate. Crestwood Memorial Funeral home will direct services.
Mr. Barron was a native of Atlanta, GA and had retired from Liberty National Life in Miami FL. He has resided in Rainbow City for the past 15 years. He enjoyed traveling with Liberty National Retirees on their golf trips, as well as playing golf with friends and family whenever he had the opportunity. He had attended Georgia Tech, FIU, and completed his CLU classes at the University of Miami.
He is preceded in death by his parents H.D. and Bertha Barron; sister Hilda Shoemake; and brothers in law Sid Shoemake and Ed Rockhold.
Mr. Barron is survived by his wife of almost 50 years Carolyn Cash Barron, Rainbow City; son, Michael (Rhonda) Barron, Clearmont, FL; Granddaughter Tiffany Ragan, Rainbow City, Grandson Chad "C.J." Barron, stationed in Iraq; Great granddaughters McKenzie Lake and Alexia Ryan Barron, Ft.Stewart, GA; Sister Kathern Rockhold, Dallas, GA; brothers in law Ron (Janette) Cash and Jack (Carole) Cash; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews Brian Cash, Lance Keener, Vandon Stanfield, Hal Murphy, Ricky Garrison, Archie Garrison, and Pee Wee Garrison.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Sinha, Dr. Urbina, Dr. Castillo; 7th floor South Wing Nursing Station at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
Thanks to the Red Cross for their support in trying to get Chad home from Iraq.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the hour of service on Saturday.
