Graveside services will be 1 pm Thursday at Crestwood Cemetery for Mr. James "Andy" Southern age 61 of Attalla who died Monday. Reverend will officiate. Crestwood Funeral home is in charge of services.
He was a 1974 graduate of Emma Sansom High School .He was employee of Republic Steel for several years .After the plant closed he served the community through Gadsden Regionals Medical Equipment division ,delivering and setting up oxygen and equipment in patients homes. His last employment was with the City of Attalla. Andy was a member of The Alabama City Lions Club, volunteer with Carnes Center Nutrition Program. He accepted Christ early in life at The Walnut Park United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by parents James Fred Southern and Maudie B. Ussery Southern, grandparents L. Kinch and Jessie Finley Southern, Henry David and Geogiana Thompson Ussery ,nephews Scott Lowe and Jeffrey Allen.
Survivors include sisters Dianne S. Lowe, Wanda(Wayne) Allen, Janice(Richard) Blue and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family asks that friends meet graveside for the service.
