Funeral services for Mr. Jack Rich age 90 of Southside who died Sunday will be 3 P.M. Wednesday at Crestwood Chapel. Reverends Bob Thornton and Mike Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral home is in charge of services.
Mr. Rich was born in Ragland Alabama. He lived in Gadsden after serving in The United States Navy from 1943-1946 as a communications operator. He was owner of Rich T.V. Sales and Service for over 35 years.
Mr. Rich loved fishing with his friend Dwight Browning and every Saturday was dedicated to cheering on his beloved Crimson Tide. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church for 43 years where he served as deacon.
He was preceded in death by his father James Marion Rich and mother Elizabeth Jane Rich, grandson Jon Rich, brothers Wade, Herbert ,William and John, sisters Mary Shaw, Martha Hall and Floyce Bennett.
Mr. Rich is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marie Sharpton Rich, daughter Gloria Rich Griggs and sons, Barry(Jane) Rich and Gary(Julie) Rich, grandchildren Heather Abney,Emily(Jess) Howard, Jason(Nena) Rich, Tyler Rich, Veronica Rich and Amy(Joe) Hines.Great-Grandchildren Megan, Shelby and Cody Tooley, Carrie and Chandler Rich, Alex Holderfield, Connor and Caleb Howard, Austin and Matthew Rich, Ryan and Anna Hines. Great-Great-grandson Camden Huff, four sisters-in law, three brothers in-law and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jason Rich, Jess Howard, Richard Sharpton, Shelby Tooley, Cody Tooley, Austin Rich, Matthew Rich, Alex Holderfield and Tyler Rich.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dwight Browning, John Duncan, Bobby Williams, Marlon Albright, Larry Busby, Albert Davis and Joe Nix.
Special thanks for the loving care of doctors at Southern Cardiology, Neurologist Dr. Anurog Gandhi, Brittany and April of the M.I.C.U. and the 8TH Floor nurses and staff at Gadsden Regional .
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the building fund of Southside Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 1 P.M. until the time of service.
