Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Crestwood Memorial Chapel for Jack Leftwich, age 74, who passed away Saturday December 5, 2009. Ron Hamilton will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
Mr. Leftwich was an Etowah and Calhoun county resident for most of his life. He retired from the Navy as Master Chief after 21 years of service and also retired from Gadsden State Technical College as an instructor in the electrical department.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Betty June (Vaughn)Leftwich, His parents Willie and Belle Leftwich, and sisters Judy, Marie, and Sue Leftwich.
He is survived by his wife Dean Leftwich, daughter and son in law Diane and Jeff Tillison (Webster Chapel, AL), and a son and Daughter In Law Mark and Nicole Leftwich (Maryville, TN), two step sons Mike and Sandra Wright and Johnny and Pam Wright of Georgia; Grandchildren Courtney Tillison, Kasie Mims, Ashleigh Parrish, Brett Wright, Jenny Wright, who he loved dearly; Great Grandchildren Tucker and Katelyn Parrish, and Mason and Maddox Mims. He was a wonderful person who loved to take care of people he loved, a great son and a loving husband, a great friend and a caring and loving daddy. He had many friends that thought the world of him. Patience was one thing he did lack though; he always had a story about losing his temper with someone. He was loved and will be greatly missed. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the hour of service.
