Funeral services will be 12 pm Thursday May 5, 2022 at Crestwood Chapel for Mr. JD Noah, age 92, of Daphne Alabama formerly Gadsden . O n Su n day May 1, 2022, J.D. Noah was freed of the confines of this earth , and greeted with the refrain we a l l long t o hea r: "We l l done , my good and faithfu l serva nt " JD was bo rn in Glencoe AL and was a l ongtime resident of Daphne AL. Af f ectionately ' Know n a s "Unk" o r "U n c l e Buddy" by f amily, he was a m i litary veteran who served in t he US Army during t h e Korea n con f lict . After approximately 5 yea r s of military service, he went on t o lead a su ccess f u l career in sales unti l his r eti r ement . JD was a c h e ri shed member of several churches across the various seasons of his l i fe, and left h is unique, indel i ble mark at each. He loved the Lor d and relis h ed being a member of t h e chu r ch choir. Few things in this life b rought him as much joy as l ending his tenor voice to make a j oyful n oise with fel l ow be l ievers. JD h ad a jo y fu l, grandfather l y sp i rit that captu r ed the affection of al l who knew him. He had a p ar t icula r affinity fo r young people . A l though he had no children of his own, he had a profound imp ac t o n many children and families. Visit any family function and you were likely to see a c r ow d of kids , ga t hered around "Unk ," as he t old jokes and regaled them with tales and stories f ro m h is l i fe (pr oba b ly o n ly a fractio n o f whic h we r e t rue). Quick-w i tted and always wi t h a quip at t he r eady, h e had the ab i lity t o see the hu m or i n any situation. An av i d fi sherman, he love d the ou t doo r s. You coul d ofte n find h i m birdwa t ch i ng and tend i ng t o his ga r de n . However , fal l Sa t ur d ays we r e rese r ved for cheering on his C ri mson Tide with f amil y and friends. Preced i ng him in death are his p a r e n ts W i lliam Dewit t Noah and Mary Elizabeth Noa h, brothers Harold Noah. Rex N oa h and nephew Randy Barber,. He is su r vive d by h is loving sister, Dorothy Lyda and brother, Ray Noah, nephews Mike (Judy), Greg (Cynthia), Gary(Deborah) and Jeff(Stacy) Barber and Karen Barber and a large extended family. Special thanks to his chosen family, and dear friends for more years than we can count, Les and Pam Parnell and Jacob and Tiffany for all their loving care. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 10 am until the time of service.
