Mrs. Ira Jean Smart Rodgers, 80 of Gadsden, died Friday, June 2, 2017. Her funeral will be Monday, at 1 P.M., in Crestwood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Rodgers, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Crestwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, Noon until time of service.

Mrs. Rodgers was the owner and operator of "Miss Jean's Cajun Connection" in Gadsden for many years.

Survivors include son, Jonathan Rodgers, Sr (Mary); daughter, Teresa Rodgers; brothers, Boyd Smart (Peggy) and Rodrick Smart; sister, Martha Thomas; nine grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by husband, Vester Rodgers; parents, Herbert Smart and Ruby Beard Smart; son, James Floyd Rodgers.
