A memorial visitation will be held Tuesday October 2, 2012 from 10-11AM at Crestwood Funeral Home for Mr. Ira "Joe" Patterson age 73, of Gadsden who died Sunday September 30, 2012.
Ira "Joe" graduated from Jacksonville State University with a Masters Degree in Psychology. He will be remembered not only for his 26 plus years of Barber Style instructing, which was his life's passion, but also for his 40 plus years of service to the industry. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged December 14, 1962 as the Vietnam War was escalating. Other memories of Ira "Joe" include his lifetime following of the Holistic Health Institute of Iridology and Herbs, as well as his strong belief in Neuro-Linguistics. Ira "Joe" was a wonderful son, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He will be surly be missed by us all.
He is preceded in death by father, Ira "Hursteen" Patterson; sisters, Brenda Gail Lacks and Charlotte Wandean Patterson.
He is survived by his mother, Alta Patterson; son, Joseph "Ryan" Patterson; grandchildren, Cara (Matthew) Ferguson, Jessica (Nathan) Murphree, and Joseph "Cody" Patterson; great grandchildren, Alexis Draper and Jodie Murphree.
