A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter for Inzer Allen "A.J." Johnson, 52, Rainbow City, who passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012. The Rev. Grady Richardson will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Allen was a lifelong resident of Etowah County. He professed Christ at an early age. He attended Litchfield High School and was a graduate of the Alabama Trade School, which is now GSCC. He was a welder by trade and was a member of the Local Boilermakers Union and of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 498. Allen liked old cars and trucks and loved riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed bass fishing and enjoyed helping others. He was a very humble man and loved children, animals and the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Floyd Johnson; aunt and uncle, Grace and Mac Floyd; and a grandfather and grandmothers-in-law. He is survived by the love of his life of 29 years, Mrs. Debra Plummer Johnson; daughter, Krissy Lea Johnson; son, Mason R. Johnson; grandson, Nathaniel "Nate" Allen Johnson; brother and best friend, Tony E. Johnson; brother, W. Larry Williams and family; mothers and father-in-law, Sandra B. Plummer and Brenda K. and Joe M. Plummer; sister-in-law, Penny Plummer Lucas, Trussville; brothers-in-law, Steve (Brandy) Knight, Cartersville, Ga., and Matt (Mandy) Knight; grandfather-in-law, Fred B. Beasley; beloved niece, Alanna Johnson, Marshall County; beloved pets, Knothead, Bama, Biggie, Screamy and Thumper; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joe Mullinax Food Bank at East Gadsden United Methodist Church; to the Etowah County Humane Society; to Toys for Tots; or to the Alabama Forever Wild Program.
