Funeral services will be 1 pm Wednesday at Crestwood Chapel for Mr. Hulon Fred "H.F." Tidwell age 77 of Southside who died Saturday, November 11,2017 after a short but hard fought battle with cancer. Reverend Dennis Chambers and Chaplain Joe Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Rainbow Memorial Cemetery.
He was a loving husband, father and paw- paw. He loved his family and friends so much and they loved him. He enjoyed going to the beach and The Smoky Mountains , playing slot machines and sitting on the deck talking with neighbors Ben, Tee and Jimmy. He was a retiree of AAA Plumbing and Pottery. He was of the Church of God faith.
He is preceded in death by mother Illa Chapman, father Ishell Tidwell, stepfather Whitt Chapman, grandparents Hulon and Ruth Preston , Fred and Fannie Tidwell along with numerous aunts and uncles.
He is survived by loving wife of 36 years Betty Tidwell ,daughters Renee Works, Suzi(Barry) Latham, Pam(Shane) Garner ,grandchildren Drew(Amber )Works, Dylan Works, Katie(Shane) Bellew, Courtney Garner, Stephen Latham, Madison Latham and great grandchildren Jagger and Brynlee Works and sister Ruth(Larry) Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Barry Latham, Shane Garner, Drew Works, Dylan Works, Stephen Latham and Bud Payne.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Lane, Bill Hill and Jimmy Abernathy.
Flowers will be accepted or donations to American Cancer Society.
Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
