Funeral services will be 12 pm Wednesday, March 4, at Crestwood Chapel for Mr. Hugh Allen Corley age 91 of Gadsden who passed away Monday March 2nd following an extended illness. Reverend Daniel Barkley and Brother Wade Acton will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral home is in charge of services.
Hugh loved his family. He loved the outdoors especially his garden, flowers, and church family. He was a World War ll veteran who served in the South Pacific; he retired from LTV in 1985, and is a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Hugh was an avid Auburn fan that lived for Auburn football.
Mr. Corley is preceded in death by his parents Scott and Florence Corley , brothers Robert, Frank and James Corley, sisters Norma Collier ,Evelyn Busbee and Louise Bazemore.
He is survived by Ann Nelson Corley his wife of 71 years, daughters Pat (Rick) Clifton, and Susan (Bobby) Roach.
Grandsons Scott (Andreanna) Clifton, Patrick(Leigh Ann) Clifton and Jason Roach.
Grandaughter Jennifer(Joe) Lathers, great-grandsons Zac Clifton and Levi Welsh, great granddaughters Kinleigh Clifton ,Jenna Clifton, Haydyn Lathers and Hayley Lathers.
Brother Tom (Mary) Corley, brother and sister in-law Joe and Betty Nelson and sister in-law Jean Corley.
Pallbearers will be Scott Clifton, Patrick Clifton, Jason Roach, Zac Clifton, Joe Lathers and Levi Welsh.
Honorary Pall Bearers are Lance Williamson, Harold Williamson, Stan and Gloria Kas, Elders of Cumberland Presbyterian Church , C.S. Hudson, and John Butler.
