Funeral Services will be held at 1pm Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Crestwood Chapel for Hoyt R. McCain, age 72, who passed away July 30, 2022. Rev. Sherrill Reed will officiate with Honorable officiate Harold O'Neal. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home will direct services.
Hoyt was a U.S. Army veteran. He had retired from Goodyear with 36 years of service. He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed making several projects for family and friends. He loved sharing his passion with his grandkids. He was also an avid photographer. He enjoyed westerns, old gospel music, and playing chess with his grandkids. He was a proud member of Tennalla Church in Centre.
He is preceded in death by his parents Quincy H. and Mary A. McCain.
Hoyt is survived by his one and only true love, his wife of over 51 years, Mary "Honey" McCain; his sons Timothy (Tracy) McCain of Toronto, Ohio and Jason McCain of Gadsden; grandkids Cody, Randi, Hannah, Lukas, Levi, and Caden; sisters in law Linda (the late) Foster, Debbie (Bradley) Kerr, and Joannie (Mark) Patterson; brother in law Charles Johnson; and several nieces and a nephew.
The family would like to say a special "THANK YOU" to Dr. Iyer, Dr. Castillo, the EMT's that made numerous calls to the house, the Gadsden Regional ER staff, Dr. Carpenter MICU, and the two MICU nurses Sharlene and Dillon that took "AMAZING" care of him through this challenging time. We have been blessed.
Pallbearers will be Levi McCain , Lukas McCain, Hannah McCain, Caden McCain , Randi Nance, and Robert Galbreath.
Honorary Pallbearer is Charles Johnson.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5 until 8pm at the Crestwood Funeral Home.
