Graveside service will be 3pm today at Crestwood Cemetery for Higy Minton, Jr., age 84, of Southside, who died December 29, 2013. Lauil Thompson will officiate. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct service.

Mr. Minton was a veteran, having served with both the Navy and Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He had retired from Anniston Army Depot as a Machinist. He was a devout Christian who read his Bible daily. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend to all and will be dearly missed.

Her is preceded in death by his adoring wife of over 60 years Muriel Minton and his parents Higy, Sr. and Ennis Minton.

He is survived by his daughters Donna Hammond and Sharon (Sid) McCarver; granddaughters Sandra Tidmore and Nichole McCarver; great granddaughter Reagan Tidmore.

The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church.
