Herylan Hamby, age 96, of Gadsden, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026. Visitation will be held at Crestwood Funeral Home on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Hamby was born and raised in Alabama. She graduated from Gadsden High School in 1948 and married the love of her life, Daniel R. Hamby Jr., in 1956. They shared 56 devoted years of marriage until his passing in 2012. Herylan deeply loved her family and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was a longtime member of College Heights Baptist Church, where she faithfully served in the nursery and taught Sunday school for many years. Later, she and her husband became members of Paden Baptist Church, where she continued her service by leading a ladies’ exercise class.

Herylan found great joy in cooking, gardening, and spending time with her beloved family.

She is survived by her son, Wesley R. (Karen) Hamby; her daughter, Deana S. (Brandon) Rogers; and her cherished grandchildren, Joshua Hamby, Rebekah McCary, Dani Rogers, and Mason Rogers.

Pallbearers will be members of her family.
