Herstine Cheatwood Shaw, age 94 of Gadsden, Alabama, died on Saturday, February 11, 2023.

Background:
Born in 1928 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Mrs. Shaw will be remembered as the anchor of her family, always attentive and protective of those around her. She led a full life as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Oscar William (Bill) Shaw, parents John Edward Cheatwood and Myrtle Garrison Cheatwood, and siblings Catherine, John E, Fred, Zora, Inman, and twin sister, Christine.
Survived by:
Her three children, Michael (Jing) Shaw, Shelia Shaw, and Diane (Jim) Williams, grandchildren Randy (Rachel) Shaw and Brian (Elise) Williams, five great-grandchildren, as well as three step grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
