Funeral Service will be at Noon Saturday January 29 at Crestwood Chapel for Herbert Woolf, age 92, who died January 26, 2011. Rev. Michael Oliver will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct Services.
Mr. Woolf was a dairyman and a surveyor and engineer. He retired from Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL, in 1979. He began his degree at Snead State College in Boaz in1937, and after several years of interruption, completed it at Jacksonville State College 45 years later. This was just one example of his determination.
He is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Roxie Woolf, wife Beatrice Woolf, and son Robert Luckie Woolf.
He is survived by his wife Frances Woolf; Son Lee (Linda) Woolf; brothers Warren (Sue) Woolf, Dr. Glenn (Ann) Woolf, Raymond (Peggy) Woolf; daughter in law Pat Woolf; grandsons Benjamin (Laura)Woolf, Marcus Woolf, Tom (Shanon) Woolf, and John Woolf; stepson Ronnie (Pat) Shoemaker; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Baptist Childrens Home.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services on Saturday.
