Funeral will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, at Crestwood Chapel for Herbert B. Morris, 67, of Gadsden, who passed away April 6, 2015. Rev. Mike Hengle and Rev. Jack Campbell will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery.
Herb was born in Tuscaloosa and lived most of his life in Etowah County. He was a graduate of Emma Sansom High School Class of 1967. He had worked at Flowers Bakery and Mitchell Elementary School. He loved his family and had enjoyed coaching his sons and their friends in soccer for many years. He also loved animals, especially his dogs Dixie and Rebel. He was a member of Parkway Community Church.
He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Morris.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sandra Dodd Morris; children, John Paul Morris (Charlotte), Michael Morris, and Kellie Edwards (Keith); grandchildren Savannah, Ethan, Bailey, Alex and Sydney Edwards; mother Bettye Jo Amason; sisters, Paula Spears (Don) and Lisa Broach (Tim); nieces, Jessica and Anna Broach; and special friend, W.C. Murphy.
The family will receive flowers, or memorials may be made to Parkway Community Church.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers are the class of 1967 Emma Sansom Alumni Dining Group.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the hour of service.
