Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crestwood Chapel for Mr. Henry Rudolph "Rudy" Campbell, 83, Gadsden, who passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2012. The Rev. Jack Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge. Mr. Campbell was a loving husband, father and granddad. He was a longtime resident of Gadsden and was retired from Seimens Allis after 30 years of service. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy for four years from 1945 to 1949. He loved woodworking in his workshop, crossword puzzles and watching old westerns. He was a member of Paden Baptist Church. Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Newton and Mamie Campbell. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Pauline Campbell; sons, Terry Campbell and Mike (Blanchie) Campbell; grandson, Michael Grant Campbell; granddaughters, Jaclyn Tanner Campbell, Meg Rassassi and Chrissy Frazier; sister, Estelle (Clarence) Leatherman; special niece, Sherry Ragan; and a host of other nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans or Paden Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Babe Silvey, employees of Gentiva Hospice, Rehab First and Lee and Ricky Akridge. Special thanks to Melissa Rissler, Kim Glass and Angela Hackett. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
