Funeral services will be at 2pm Sunday at Crestwood Chapel for Mr. Henry G. "H.G." Ozment, Jr. age 91, of Gadsden who died Thursday, March 29, 2012. Rev. Van Lockridge will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.
Mr. Ozment was a longtime member of East Gadsden Baptist Church. He was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 38 years of service. He was a veteran of WW II having served as a Marine. He loved gardening and received the Gadsden Beautification Award three times. He received the Good Citizenship Award twice for all he did for his friends and neighbors. He loved the Lord, his family and everyone he met. He will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 ½ years Mary Ozment and wife Ermadine Ozment; parents Henry and Nonnie Ozment; three brothers; two sisters; and grandson Joe Headrick.
He is survived by his son Wayne (Martha) Ozment; daughters, Jean Williams, Marcia (Larry) Espy, and Ruth (Mark) Headrick; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Ann (Roger) Mathis; one brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Burns and Aaron Lewis.
Special thanks to Gadsden Regional Emergency Department, 7th floor south, 8th floor, 9th floor, 9th floor south, Dr. Ceneus, Dr. Diop. Dr. M. Ghandi, Dr. Hunt, Dr. Jaiswal, Dr. Vann, Gadsden Regional Hospice, and Gadsden Health Care hall 300. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 TONIGHT at the funeral home.
