Funeral services will be at St. James Catholic Church on Monday August 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.  for Helene Piazza, age 76, of Glencoe who passed away on August 19, 2021. Father Jose Chacko and Monsignor Charles Troncale will co-officiate. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery.

Helene was one of the most remarkable people. She was a gentle, kind, selfless, humble, and loving person. She was accomplished in her career and personal life but worked much harder to make the lives of others around her happier and less burdened.

She loved her faith in Christ, her family, and her friends. She loved St. James Church and School and after her retirement from Bank of America in Atlanta, Georgia, she devoted her time as a volunteer to both of them. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.

She is survived by her siblings Ann (Bob) Koenig, Sandra (Harold) Boggio, Tom (Shelia) Piazza, Paul (Elaine) Piazza, Christine Ford, and Michael (Tammy) Piazza, sister in law Martha Piazza, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Helene is preceded in death by her parents Vincent and Mary Piazza, sister Marguerite (Don) Kelly, and brother Joseph (Martha) Piazza.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. James Catholic School.

Pallbearers will be Helene's nephews.

The family would like to issue a special thank you to Kristy Graham, Mary Hyatt, Robin Powers, Glencoe Police and Fire Department, and St. James Church and School faculty and staff.

The family is respectfully requesting that masks be worn and all attendees adhere to social distancing guidelines.

The family will have visitation at St. James Church on Monday, August 23, 2021 starting at 9:00 a.m. and lasting until the time of service.
