Helen McCormick, 88, Gadsden, passed away on November 11, 2017. Helen was born on January 19, 1929 to Clement and Carrie Mounger. She married on May 24, 1947 to John McCormick Sr.

Helen had unique love and passion for animals, specifically her dogs. She also loved to collect bell and cow figurines. She was a member of North Glencoe Baptist Church, where she loved socializing. She loved good movies and had a smile that could light up a room.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John McCormick Sr; sister, Francis Kraushaar.

She is survived by her son, John McCormick Jr.; Alan (Carol) McCormick; grandchildren Acie (Shane) Stargel; Derrick McCormick; great grandchildren Lindsey (fiance Gunnar) Smith, Jacob Smith and Destiny Stargel.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice of Gadsden, specifically to her caregivers Carol Blackwood, Tish Burgess, Hannah Turner and any other staff that helped in the care of our grandmother.

Graveside services will be held at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery at 3 P.M. Friday, November 17, 2017 with Chaplain Joel Williams officiating.
