Funeral services will be at 11 am Saturday at Crestwood Chapel for Mrs. Helen Bryant Allsup age 81 of Hokes Bluff who died Wednesday, October 15th,2014.Reverends Steve Baccus and Jon Lee will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Mrs. Allsup wore many hats including kindergarten teacher, scout leader, store keeper and Sears retiree with over 24 years of service. She and her husband L.C. Allsup Jr were members of the Gadsden Whirl-A-Ways Square Dance Club, she was a dedicated member of Hokes Bluff Seniors and Friends, Sears Retiree group, the Fill My Cup Ministries and a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Hokes Bluff. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother who lit up every gathering with her wonderful sense of humor. Avid walker, tender of her flowers and comedienne to all and will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, L.C. Allsup Jr. , parents Thomas and Ethel Bryant and 4 siblings.
She is survived by Sons Michael(Julia) and Jimmy(Frances) Allsup. Grandchildren Adam, Clinton , twins Joseph(Clara) and William(Ciara) ,Katie and Henry Allsup
Pallbearers will be family and friends
The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to The First United Methodist Church of Hokes Bluff Alabama.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, October 17,2014 from 5 until 7 pm.
