Hazel Madge Guest Stuckey 1917 -2017
Graveside services will be 11 am Friday at Crestwood Cemetery for Mrs. Hazel Madge Guest Stuckey, 99, of Hokes Bluff passed peacefully from this earth to her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, after a brief hospital stay. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Guest Moore of Ormond Beach, FL; her devoted sons: Don Stuckey (Gloria) of Birmingham, Mike Stuckey (Katie) of Ohatchee, and Joe Stuckey of Birmingham; grandchildren: Cynthia Stuckey (Mark Clifton), Michelle Preston (Chris), Nathan Stuckey, Brett Stuckey (Amy Kate), Warren Mullins, Liza Soydan (Olof), Morgan Haywood; great grandchildren: Kendall Preston, Alex and Clay Mullins, Eleanor and Gustav Soydan, and Caroline Stuckey. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband James Wilson Stuckey; her parents, Lonnie Guest Sr. and Elm Martin Guest; brothers J.C. Guest and Lonnie Guest, and sister Jackie Guest Carter.
Hazel was born in Hopewell, AL, in 1917. She graduated from Albertville High School and moved to Birmingham where she met her husband a few years later. They moved to Gadsden, Alabama, where they owned and operated Stuckey's Wholesale from 1954 4979. In retirement, she volunteered as a member of the Baptist Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for many years. Hazel was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church where she served for 50 years in the Children's Department, sang in the church choir, and participated in Women's Missionary Union.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 10 am until the time of service.
