Services will be Sunday, March 6, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. at Crestwood Chapel for Hassie Bonds Moon, 86, who died Thursday, March 3, 2011. Ministers Norman Flynn and Blake Jones of the Rainbow Church of Christ will officiate. Mrs. Moon and her husband, Marshall, were charter members of that church and served it faithfully throughout their lives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall L. Moon She is survived by her daughter, Marsha (Dr. Philip) Williams, Gadsden, and her son, Steve (JoLynn) Moon, Birmingham. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kristi James, Michael Moon and Melissa Moon; great-grandchildren, Colton Lee Davis, Keylee Victoria Whitworth and Olivia Grace Whitworth; special niece, Jean Wagnon; and lifelong friend, Ruby Jo McMahan. Pallbearers will be Craig King, John Bowling, Stephen Wood, Dennis Long, Kevin McMahan and Andre Champagne. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Jason Ayres, Dr. James Robinson, Dr. Bryan McGwier and Gadsden Orthopedics. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and care provided by Hope Hospice, especially Shirley, Sara and Matt, and the staff at her most recent home, the Meadows of Rainbow City. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Rainbow Church of Christ, 2201 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, AL or Hope Hospice, 3131 U.S. Highway 431 N., Anniston, AL 36206.
