A memorial service will be held 11 am Friday at Crestwood Chapel for Mr. Harry Nelson Carter age 68 of Gadsden who died Tuesday. Gary Wilson will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.

Harry loved the outdoors  ,hunting ,fishing, trail rides to Montgomery with his horses in his younger years, he also raced dirt track at Green Valley Raceway, working on anything including lawn mowers. Attended Hokes Bluff High, retired from The City of Gadsden, was a loving husband , father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by parents Elton and Vivian Carter, sisters, Barbara Dowdy, Kathryn Pruitt and brother Wayne Carter.

He is survived by wife Jeanette Carter, children Dillon Carter, Michelle(Craig) Tumlin, Michael Carter, grandchildren Houston and Hayden Tumlin, sisters Neil(Butch) Ramsey, Sue( Frank)Walker,brother in law Bill Dowdy  and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of his coworkers at The City of Gadsden.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 10 am until the time of service.
