Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Crestwood Chapel for Grace Katherine Akridge, 90, Gadsden, who died March 9, 2009. Bro. Bill Kirkpatrick will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.
Mrs. Akridge was born Nov. 17, 1918. She resided most of her life in Etowah County. She was a wonderful Christian, wife, mother and grandmother to five generations.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Roy P. Akridge.
She is survived by sons, Roy Lee (Faye) Akridge and Ricky Joe (Liz) Akridge, both of Glencoe; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Mack Staton; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers for the loving care shown to Mrs. Akridge and her family.
The family will receive from 5 to 7 tonight at Crestwood Funeral Home.
