Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Crestwood Chapel for Gordon J. Autwell, 91, of Glencoe, who passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013. Dr. Tommy Ferguson will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services.
Mr. Autwell was a longtime member of Goodyear Heights Baptist Church. He retired from Republic Steel with over 37 years of service. He had been a member of Dwight Masonic Lodge for 52 years. He was a proud World War II veteran, having served in the Army as a tank driver under General Patton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Minnie Autwell; brothers, Paul, Raymond and Howard Autwell; and sister, Clyde Autwell.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Idalene Davenport Autwell; daughter, Judy Baldwin; granddaughter, Leslie (Michael) Turner; grandson, Dylan Andrew Turner; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Pat Adkison, Bill Barnes, Byron Townsel, Michael Turner, Dylan Turner and L.W. Talton.
Honorary pallbearers are Robert Long, Jim Massenberg, Barry Parker and Dr. Steve Sanders.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
