Mrs. Glenda Jean Prater Black, age 80, of Glencoe, passed away on Friday January 5, 2024. There will be a celebration of her life at 10 AM on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Crestwood Funeral Home. John Simmons will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home will direct services.

Mrs. Black was a longtime resident of Etowah County. She had an appreciation of the beauty around her and shared that by creating and selling her art. She loved having her daughter, Angela involved in her art projects. She was a very loving and devoted wife and mother.

She is preceded in passing by her husband Jerry Black, her daughter Angela Black, and her parents J.C. and Polly Prater.

Mrs. Black is survived by many cousins and was especially close to her cousin and caregiver, Fran (Robert) Morgan. She also leaves behind her dear companion and fur baby Angel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Etowah Humane Society, 4200 Brooke Ave. Gadsden, AL 35904.
