Glenda Fay Oswalt, age 81, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Crestwood Funeral Home, with the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 p.m. until service time. A Celebration of Life dinner will follow immediately after the service at Safe Harbor Church, located at 691 Pleasant Valley Road, Rainbow City, Alabama 35906.
Glenda was born on June 22, 1944, in Anniston, Alabama. She was a devoted member of Faith Worship Center and retired from Southern Bank Company after 35 years of dedicated service. Glenda graduated from Walter Wellborn High School in Anniston and married the love of her life, Jerry Wayne Oswalt, in December of 1962. She was a faithful and devoted wife for 58 years, until Jerry's passing on March 8, 2019.
In addition to her husband Jerry Oswalt, Glenda was preceded in death by her son, Steven Wayne Oswalt; her parents, Cleve and Irene Silas; her brother, Wayne Silas; and her sisters, Dorothy Moore (Stanley), Annette Haynes (Jerry), and Sandra Sparks (Floyd).
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Roberts (Rick) and Karen Oswalt; her granddaughters, Whitney Hill (Chris) and Savannah Oswalt; her great-grandchildren, Kylie Hill, Karra Hill, Hayden Hill, Marlee Oswalt, Michael Carter Oswalt, and Harmony Oswalt; sisters Joe Mitchell (Ronnie) and Joyce Rickson, brother Lewis Silas, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Rick Roberts, Chris Hill, Daniel Cameron, and Wayne Hill.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Faith Worship Center, Safe Harbor Church, Crestwood Funeral Home, Amedisys Home Health and Hospice, Gadsden Regional Hospital, Gadsden Eye Associates, Dr. Allison Vann, Dr. George Robinson, Dr. Wood, and Dr. John Just. Heartfelt appreciation is also extended to all family and friends for their love, kindness, and support during Glenda's long-term care.
