Geraldine "Jerre" Maxwell McNeal went to be with her Heavenly Father on May 8th.
She was preceded in death by her husband James McNeal, her parents, Noble and Era Maxwell, sister Edna Jackson; and brothers, Howell and Joel Maxwell.
Living on with her memories of Jerre are her nieces, nephews and cousins, all who will miss her greatly.
Jerre was a retired civil servant at Ft. McClellan. After retiring she became involved in RSVP and the Ladies Auxiliary at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
She received volunteer of the year in both organizations. Jerre enjoyed volunteering and dedicated her retirement to helping others. Jerre was one of the organizers of The Golden Eagle Reunion for Hokes Bluff High School.
Jerre was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Light Bearers Sunday School Class and active in other church activities.
A private graveside service will take place after visitation.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Thursday from 3 until 4 pm.
