Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Crestwood Funeral Home for Geraldine Martin, 86, Gadsden, who died March 1, 2009. Bro. Dwight Gary of Crosspoint Community Church and Paul Barnett, Associate pastor of Safe Harbor Church will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery.
She was a member of South 11th Street Baptist Church, a lifetime member of VFW Post 8600, Women's Auxiliary to the MOC- our motto, keep'em smiling in beds of white. She served as President , Sr. VP and Jr. VP and Chaplain. Volunteer work for VA Hospital and Nursing Homes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Lee Martin, daughter, Dolores Barnett and granddaughter, Ginger Paige Sims, 1 sister and 6 brothers.
She is survived by daughters, Virginia (Myron) Harvey, Linda (Harold) Brown, Elaine (Bob) Mynatt, Sarah (Carlton) Barnett; son, Nathan C. Martin, 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild; sisters Mary Lee Privett and Nancy Barron.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alabama Association for Strokes.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Sims, Keith Barnett, John Barnett, Paul Barnett, Eric Johns, Jerry Guyton, Phillip Cochran and Tim Mynatt.
