Gerald G. "Shorty" Jones, age 84, passed away on January 11th, 2024. He was a lifelong resident of Glencoe. Reverend Paul Clark will officiate. Visitation will be held at Crestwood Funeral Home on Sunday, January 14th, 2024 from 11-2 pm with service starting at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery following the service.
Gerald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a master carpenter and worked for Boatner Construction as a superintendent for 35 years plus. He loved all aspects of gardening and was known for his roses, tomatoes, peppers, and turnip greens.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years Betty Jones; parents Jeff and Dela Jones; brother Tommy Jones; sisters Mary Elizibeth Penny and June Williams
He is survived by his daughters Beth (Martin) Gable, Nena (Billy) Riddlespur, Lynn (Brian) Bramblett; grandchildren Michael Elliott, Katelyn (Will) Deerman, Jennifer (Jeffery) Wagnon, Savanah (Joshua) Martin, Kelsey (Andrew) Gable-Smith, Jessica (Gavin Barber) Riddlespur, Matthew Bramblett; great grandchildren Alyssa Elliott, Jordan Elliott, Drake Deerman, Hayes Deerman, Kagen Wagnon, Jackson Wagnon, Winry Wagnon, Mavie Grayce Martin; a host of nieces and nephews
