Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday, at Crestwood Chapel ,  for Mr.  George Mordecai, age 81, of Glencoe ,  who died Saturday,  February 19,2022.Brooks Boyd and David Marker will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home announcing.

He was born in Dancy Alabama, in 1940. George's parents moved to Glencoe in 1942. He grew up in Glencoe, attended The University of Alabama and worked in Birmingham and Huntsville before returning to Glencoe where he worked 19 years in the Goodyear Engineering Department. He also did custom home plans for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan Mordecai, son Davis Eugene Mordecai, daughter Stacy Elaine Merkle, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Davis Mordecai, Jonathan Merkle, Evan Merkle, Zach Merkle, Wayburn  Burttram and Michael Geurin.
