Obituary

George Marcus Marshall passed away Sunday, April 16 at the age of 67. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter Curtis Marshall and Jacqueline Jean Marshall (Betterton). Mark is survived by his wife of 42 years M. Lynn Marshall, his sons Tony and Jeffrey (Patrice), his brothers Brad, Lynn "Bones", Keith and his sister Susan Black (Marshall).

Mark joined the Army at the age of 20. During his service time, Mark was awarded two Army Commendation Medals. After leaving the Army, Mark moved back to his hometown of Gadsden where he began his career with Food World. When he wasn't working at Food World, he worked as a mechanic at Kirkland's Garage in Glencoe.
Mark loved spending time with his family, friends,and his pups Snowflake, Diesel and Lady. He enjoyed working on engines and telling stories with his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 22nd at Crestwood Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers include: Tony and Jeffrey Marshall, Brad Marshall, Lynn "Bones" Marshall, Kenneth Kirkland and Robin Spurlin. Visitation begins at 12:00 p.m. and the funeral ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting sympathy plants.
Mark was a devoted husband, father, son, sibling and friend who will be missed tremendously.
