Funeral service will be at noon on Saturday January 25 at Crestwood Chapel for George Little, age 96, of Talladega, who died January 19, 2014. His family will conduct the funeral service and burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct.

Mr. Little had retired from Birmingham News at the age of 74 and had worked several years at The Gadsden Times. He was a longtime member of Bluff Park Methodist Church where he had served as past board member. George loved his family and enjoyed life. He was a humble man that was loved by all because of his kindness. He never had an ill word to say about anyone. He will be remembered by his family as a man as close to perfect as anyone can be. He was a true Southern Gentleman.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Chrystine; son George Little Jr.; grandson John; sister JoAnn Davidson; and brother Audie R. Little.

He is survived by sons James (Linda) Little and Fred (Sharon) Little; grandchildren Alan, Meridith, Carolyn, and Shari; great grandchildren Emerson, Lola, Oliver, Elliott, Charles, Meghan, Natalie, Jason, and Alecia; and great great grandchild Zeke.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 am until the hour of service.
