Garey Don Lankford, 79, passed away peacefully in his home in Hokes Bluff on September 28, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Carol Shan Lankford; his daughter Jennifer Lankford, and siblings Ross Lankford, Doris Wyans, and Sue Harris.

He leaves behind a sister, Peggy Patterson; his daughters Sharon (Jeff) Casey, Stacy Kelly, Amy (Roger) Barron; grandchildren, Easton (Megan) Kelly, Justen (Bridget) Burns, Jossie (Winston) Kelly, Lynsie (Caleb) Campbell, Payton (Jamia) Burns; as well as two great grandchildren, Harper Kelly and Mason Kelly.
Garey Don was born on December 12, 1942. He was retired from Anniston Army Depot Lockheed Martin and was also a proud veteran of the United States Military having served as an Airman/MP in the United States Air Force. Some of his hobbies included hunting, fishing and watching Alabama Football. In his younger years he was a very active member of the Hokes Bluff Band Boosters and enjoyed driving the buses while his daughters were in school. Above all, he loved his family and spending time with them.
The family will hold a memorial service at his home in Hokes Bluff on September 30, 2022, from 12-4. Family and friends are welcome to come visit with the family during this time.
